Udupi, Aug 12: “Yogaratna Thanushree Pithrody, a yoga star of Udupi, is well known for holding multiple records at a tender age. Now she is getting ready to create a new record on the occasion of 75th Independence Day at Sri Naraharitheertha Vedike, Rajangana Udupi,” informed Uday Kumar, father of Thanushree.
He was speaking at a press meet organized at press club here on Thursday August 12.
Thanushree is in 8th standard in St Cecily's Kannada medium school Udupi. She will create the new record by doing most yoga poses performed in a relay (200 poses) in 45 minutes. The programme will be held following Covid protocols.
Thanushree said, “I am training since three months for this attempt under Ramakrishna Kodancha, Yoga Guru Narendra Kamath Karkala and getting medical guidance under Dr Shobhith Shetty, SDM Parika. I am trying to do 200 different yoga postures to create my own record in Golden Book of Records. This yoga performance will include all kinds of yoga postures. I would like to dedicate this achievement to Indian soldiers, who have sacrificed their lives for our country.”
Vijay Kotian and Surabhi Ratan were present.
