Bengaluru: School reopening doubtful as coronavirus cases on rise in few districts

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Aug 13: Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai has given the go ahead to start grades 9 to 12 from August 23. However, the actual reopening of schools might not happen now as the coronavirus cases are rising.

The Education department is also in quandary. A meeting will be held soon. In districts where the positivity rate is more than 2% the chances of opening schools is slim.

A meeting is slated to be held between education and health departments in a day or two. Based on the view of the experts the opening of schools will be decided.

Beginning of grades 1 to 8 is tougher as the children will not follow the Covid guidelines of wearing the mask all the time, maintaining social distance, especially during lunch break and games periods. Even if one child gets infected, the whole class will be in danger getting infected.

On the whole, though Bommai has given the go ahead, it seems practically, the Covid situation is not conducive to start the education institutions.

What is the great hurry to open schools and colleges? Young lives should not be put at risk because of the tearing hurry of managements of schools to make money. Let the online system continue undisturbed. We have a great responsibility to safeguard our young generations.

Our dear Hon Chief Minister, Shri Basavaraj Bommai, I know you have say in this matter of letting the Schools opened for Grades 9 to 12. Many people have good opnion also to start ON LINE Classes at least for some time; and later start regular ones which they think would be beneficial for the Students as well as for teachers or professors for their UN-DISTURBED Studies. Kindly look into this propositon, if possible. THANK YOU SIR.
