Mangaluru: Weekend curfew to continue as usual

Mangaluru, Aug 13: The weekend curfew which came into place last week will continue this weekend too.

The exams scheduled for degree and postgraduate students on August 14 have been postponed due to the weekend curfew.

The general public are allowed to purchase essential commodities till from 5 am to 2 pm.

KSRTC and private buses will ply as usual.

It may be recalled, weekend curfew was ordered by the state government on districts bordering Kerala and Maharashtra namely Dakshina Kannada, Kodagu, Chamarajanagar, Belagavi, Bidar and Kalaburgi due to rising cases of Covid. Also, the duration of night curfew was advanced by an hour from 9 pm to 5 am instead of 10 pm to 5 am throughout the state.

    We know that the 3 rd wave is starting. We should be clever enough to be safe. Our children should be safe at home. Government should never open schools and should close all malls , theatres and shops. No buses also. Complete lockdown is the solution. I hope you all understand the seriousness

    The virus mutates and we have new coming. I urge the government to continue lockdown for atleast till January. It’s dangerous virus. Total lockdown is necessary. Be home be safe. Vaccines are there but still we have to be careful. Stay safe at home

    In DK curfew has no meaning. Buses are allowed. Few companies are working as usual. Only shops are asked to close at 2pm. So what kind of rules DC has implemented?

Curfew for 1 year..You are saying people who go out will die?....Don't say deadly and all.Please......Curfew is not solution yaaar...Then you are vaccine does not work.You don't want people to go out and work and enjoy..Please don't say staying at home is a preventive measures...Ask govt to provide proper treatment for covid patients...Govt should provide free rtpcr tests and free blood tests.

    Hi Readers, I am working at Kannur, Kerala in an IT company and want to travel home. I usually drive back to Mangalore during weekend. It's been almost 6 months I have visited my home, wife, parents and children. Since Karnataka has disallowed travellers without RT-PCR now as per reports, can someone who has travelled via Talapady or any other borders to DK district please help me with the current situation there. Also please let me know about KSRTC buses. Thank you for your replies.

    Very simple Shettre. First fix the day of travel. The previous day morning, go to nearest testing center in Kannur and get a swab. You will get the report in your mobile as a message. or take a print out. At Talapady, show the message or report to border officials and enter namma mangalooru. Home sweet home. Just check in Kannur, how long it takes for rtPCR report to come after you give the swab.
