Kundapur: Thieves make futile attempt to steal cash from ATM

Kundapur, Aug 13: Thieves made a futile attempt to steal cash from the ATM of Canara Bank on the national highway at Mabukala in Irody gram panchayat on Friday August 13.

Police informed that attempts were made to steal cash from the ATM in the wee hours of Friday. As there was no security guard, thieves had entered the ATM and tried to steal cash.

Public is miffed with the fact that security guards are not being deployed in the ATMs located in areas like Kota, Saligrama, Sasthana and Thekkatte. As per the instructions of the court, all banks should deploy security guards in the ATMs concerned. But, banks have fail to follow the guidelines of the court.

Forensic experts and additional SP Kumarchandra visited the spot. Brahmavar circle inspector Anantha Padmanabha and other police and bank officials visited the spot.

A case has been registered in this regard.

    BANK OFFICIAL RIGHT FROM CHAIRMAN TO BANK PEON ENJOYING THEIR LIFE WITH PUBLIC MONEY. THEY FORGOTTEN THAT THEIR SALARY IS COMING FROM VALUED CUSTOMERS. IF YOU GO TO THE BANK YOU WILL SEE THEIR ATTITUDE. THEY INSTALLED MACHINE TO UPDATE THE PASSBOOKS. 99% MACHINE ARE NOT IN WORKING CONDITION. MANY BANKS NOT FOLLOWING THE RBI GUIDELINES.     Nancy Belman,it is better to wash toilets anywhere in world,and earn your own than stealing money or goods from others who earned it with their sweat.Why should one ashame to wash toilets?such thoughts are in our minds seated deep that working as toilet washer as if it is so ashaming.When so then try to educate yourself and take up a good job.Nowadays even a toilet washing job is hardly to aquare.

    Nancy, Belman, Your comments make no sense at all. What is wrong with washing toilets in the Gulf. These guys are making a good living and taking care of themselves and their families which I feel would not have made. I too worked in Dubai for many years and then migrated to the US with my family.

    It is not the banks money hence the bank officals are not concerned about any ATM robberies. You visit any Canara bank branches to just update your passbook the staff have some excuse not to update the passbook. They are not bothered if it is a senior citizen or disabled customer.

    It's due to during congress government banks lended huge loan to buisnessmens latter on they fled the country by not paying the same. By which now a days banks are running in losses not able to spend extra money wherever required. Somewhat banks trying to recover by mortgaging properties of defaulters and are try to instate money back to nation's ex-chequer.
