Kasargod: Woman Uses Washing Machine to Kill Child

Daijiworld Media Network – Kasargod (SP)

Kasargod, Sep 24:  A woman surrendered before the policemen in Alappuzha in Alleppey district in the state, on the evening of Wednesday September 23, claiming that she had killed her eight-month-old baby. The policemen found after visiting her home near Chertala that Suma (40), who suffered bouts of depression, had actually killed her baby by putting it inside the washing machine at her home.

Reportedly, Suma suffered from a bout of depression when her husband, John, had gone out to attend to his work. After planning to kill the baby, she asked her elder daughter to go straight to the home of Suma’s parents after school hours. She lied to her daughter that she had to attend to some work in the local church.

After killing the child by putting it into the washing machine, she locked the house and came straight to the police station to confess what she had done. The policemen, who found the body of the baby in the washing machine to their horror, later found out that Suma had tried to commit suicide a few months ago, when she was depressed.
