Bengaluru: Chief minister Bommai says no to zero traffic rule

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Aug 15: Chief minister Basavaraj Bomma has informed the state police department that not to impose zero traffic while he is on the move in Bengaluru.

It has been the usual practice of chief ministers, including Bommai's predecessor B S Yediyurappa, along with ministers of the state cabinet, to get zero traffic to avoid traffic congestion while travelling in the city.

Bommai has however decided not to let traffic be disrupted while he is on the move.

Bommai has also refused to take guard of honour and has also decided to donate his organs after death.

The chief minister said that he does not require zero traffic for his movement in the city but instructed to keep the signals open.

It has also been instructed that the ambulance should be given preference over the chief minister convoy.

Meanwhile, the Bengaluru traffic police have issued an order stating that the signal will be free (green light) when ministers travel.

Not only Bommai, his cabinet colleague, home minister Araga Jnanendra too has said that he does not want the zero traffic system rule for himself.

But even when the present British Prime Minister gitt covid he was admited to the hospital like any other citizen, no special status, same treatment. When will that hapoen in independant India.India

Very good decision. I congratulate the Chief Minister for introducing this. I hope this will be emulated by all the other ministers. Why should they be given special treatment? They are here to serve the people and not our masters.

With all due respect it is oaky for Bommai ji to have zero traffic rule but for Salaman ji after the success of Radhe your most wanted bhai it is not possible there would be utter chaos and also be inconvenience for his fans who want to reach theater on time to watch the mega super star on big screen so i strictly instruct for zero traffic rule when Salman khan movies is running in theater and this is my order .

Dear CM, Can you please impose this even in DK. There are some fire ministers who simply put siren & drive over speed. Even Police Piot vehicle should be warned for over speeding & dangerously driving.

That is indeed praiseworthy. The gentleman has also said no to flowers and other 'person-worship' activities carried out not only by the party functionaries but also by taxpayer-paid public servants. My salutes the current CM of Karnataka. Hopefully the future CMs follow this man on such matters.
