On Independence Day, Kundapur AC emphasizes sustainable development

Kundapur, Aug 15: The 75th Independence Day was celebrated with fervour and fanfare here the Gandhi Maidan here on Sunday August 15.

After hoisting the national flag, assistant commissioner of Kundapur sub division K Raju in his address urged the citizens to focus on sustainable development and protection of natural resources in coastal Karnataka.

 

"All of us who are celebrating the platinum jubilee of our country’s Independence have to march forward with the slogan ‘development and future with nature’. The administration is committed to provide priority to protect water and land of coastal Karnataka. In addition, stress will be given to develop agriculture, tourism, youth empowerment and skill development,” said.

Raju was speaking after hoisting the flag at in the city on the occasion of Independence Day. He further said, "As per the vision of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi, our future plans will be based on the slogan ‘75th Independence Day celebration, Projects of 75, achievements of 75, activities of 75 and solution of 75.’

"The selfless service of Umabai Kundapur, who served as the chief of Kasturba Truth is an inspiration for all of us. She is our pride," he added.

DSP Srikanth K, CEO Keshav Shettigar, youth services and sports officer Kusumakar Shetty, chief officer of town municipality Gopalkrishna Shetty, president of city planning authority Vijaya S Poojary, vice president of town municipality Sandeep Kharvi, SI of city police station Sadashiva Gavaroji and others were present.

Corona warriors from the public hospital, Asha workers, civic workers of town municipality, personnel of revenue department and police were felicitated on the occasion.
