Govt to launch Rs 100 lakh cr 'Gati Shakti' national master plan

New Delhi, Aug 15 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday announced that the government will soon launch the 'PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan' worth Rs 100 lakh crore which will help in employment opportunities and holistic infrastructure.

Addressing the nation on the 75th Independence Day, the Prime Minister said that the master plan will help our local manufacturers turn globally competitive. This will also develop possibilities of new future economic zones.

Walking the road of development, India needs to increase both manufacturing and exports, he said.

"We are set to present to you a PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan in the near future. This new initiative worth Rs 100 lakh crore will bring employment opportunities to the youth," he said.

While concentrating on modern infrastructure, India needs to work on developing new infrastructure with a holistic and integrated approach, Modi said.

Speaking of India's manufacturing prowess, he said that seven years ago the country imported mobile phones worth $8 billion and now with production-linked incentive schemes in place India is exporting $3 billion worth of mobile phones.

He stressed on the need for manufacturing world class products, using cutting-edge innovation and new age technology.

Rs:100 Lakh Crore Common man is lost in calculating the number of zeros. No one will know the details of how this will be distributed among the states (not to mention the BJP favoured ones). How industries, new entrepreneurs, new start-ups, small scale industries, individuals with no contacts or money to bribe will be able to apply/ receive befit from this initiative. Not to mention the paper work, process and procedure as per the whims of the sanctioning officer. IAS officers in-charge of this initiatives - will have a field day. Same with the higher-ups and the politicians. They will fill their coffers. People with influence, relatives of politicians and IAS officers will gain from this initiative. Say this initiative will run for a period of 3 years (or till the next election) - the leftover money will be transferred to other funds (my personal fund, my party fund, my charities, my educational institution, my constituency fund, my family fund, my religious fund, my children education fund). Common man - hope the next government will be better. Hope is eternal. Mera Bharath Mahan!

At present India's population is 136.5 crores. If every citizen/person receive each one crore that's enough. We don't want 100 lakh crores . Each citizen one crore is enough excluding andh bhakths.
