Bengaluru, Aug 16: Referring to former chief minister (CM) Siddaramaiah's prediction that the current government is yet to take off and that it will crash, urban development minister, Byrathi Basavaraj, wanted to know whether Siddaramaiah has mastered the art of making astrological predictions. He asked the former CM to restrict himself to positive criticisms and avoid unwarranted comments.
"Siddaramaiah does not know about his own future. Can he predict whether he will become the CM again? Basavaraj Bommai, within a few days of taking charge, toured four districts and announced grants amounting to Rs 7,000 crore. He also convened a meeting relating to the development of Bengaluru. One should not cosily sit somewhere and pass irresponsible comments," he retorted.
Minister for agriculture, B C Patil, speaking at Haveri, noted that Siddaramaiah does not believe in his own astrological prediction and wondered when he learnt it. He said that with the support of 118 MLAs, the BJP government will continue to be under Bommai and will again get elected in 2023.
Speaking at Chikkamagaluru, BJP national general secretary C T Ravi, speaking to media persons, pointed out that Siddaramaiah cannot visualise past, present and future for which special powers are needed. He recalled that Siddaramaiah had sworn repeatedly in the past that Narendra Modi would not become the Prime Minister at any cost. He also pointed out that during the election rallies in 2018, Siddaramaiah had asserted that he would become the CM, but his predictions fell flat.
