Mangalore, Sep 26: A group of miscreants attacked paper vendors and vandalised their stalls here on Sunday September 26 evening for selling Karavali Ale newspaper.

The group, comprising three men on a bike, first attacked a vendor in Falnir area and damaged a stall as well as an STD booth belonging to him.

It was followed by another similar attack on a stall in Kankanady.

Apart from the attacks, the vandals reportedly issued warnings and threats to several other paper vendors against selling Karavali Ale.

Where are these BJP sympathizers hiding? – Nagesh Nayak, Mahindra Shetty, Loknath D, Raj Ullal, Ashok Kunder, Keshava Puttur & (Dr) Langoolacharya.

Now don’t tell that de-notification is done by Congress to defame BJP. I agree with your collective contention that this BJP government has done lot of development (of their kith and kin) in last two and half years compared to that of 60 years of congress.

    Mr. RAJ ULLAL, MANGALORE,

It is very difficult to believe your argument. People are aware why this newspaper is targeted by Sangh Parivar goons. Incidents that have taken place in Mangalore in last couple of years are itself a proof of the goonda culture of Sangh Parivar. But instead of calling these people as ‘goondas’ it will be appropriate to call them as ‘cowards’ because they can only harm innocent unarmed people but will run away when confronted by strong people.

Let us know of one good thing done by Sangh Parivar in keeping high esteem the unity of the country or the Indian constitution? What are the programmes being carried out by RSS to eradicate caste system? India lost one of its sacred sons because of the preaching of Sangh Parivar and you say they are protecting our country. What a joke?

Observations made Mr. Vijay Kumar, Mangalore is meaningful to the context of the recent incidents taking place in Mangalore.

For a moment let us consider your argument that those things are done by the other parties to spoil the name of present BJP Govt. Then why the government is sitting? Let them catch the culprits and punish them

Vijay Kumar, Mangalore those things can be done by the other parties also in order to spoil the name of our present BJP Govt. If something goes wrong in our town people just know to comment on organization like RSS or VHP. To be frank those organization have not adopted any gunda culture. They are just working for all the people inorder to protect our country without making any differences between castes and religions. How you came to the conclusion that those things can be done by RSS. What do you know about RSS. Can you please explain me? Pls comment Mr Vijay Kumar, Mangalore.

@Leo : Can you please comment on where you can see a place of worship anywhere near the PCO? If it is because of this Man's faith that you see a holy structure, then you must be appreciative of it.If you now know where this stall is put up, then please visit and see for yourself how down to earth the Man in the picture is. This guy has done good to a larger section of the society than any politicians around.Think twice before you make ridiculous comments on a public forum like this.

This is going on for some time and the Govt and the police are just looking the other side when it is taking place openly defying everything. This is not a simple incident by the act of instant anger against any writing but a systematic plan by the Hindutva fringe group like Bajrang Dal, Rama Sene etc. to stop anybody going against their wrong doings. If police still not act and play a dilly-dally tactic than those rowdy elements will become bolder and turn into a bigger monster which even the police will not be able to control. I request the DIG to investigate thoroughly and find the mastermind behind these incidents that was happening for sometime and punish the leaders and not those hired goons.

These goons if were given an ak47 and pushed into Kashmir to attack the terrorist, I bet all of them will puke in their pants. These goons have the blessing of the saffron brigade and what can the home minister do. Once upon a time Karawale Ale would highlight convert every fart of minority's into news, now sense has come into them but they cant print true news also. Congress showed the way, BJP mastered and fine tuned goondism.

The shocking part is the the Police statement in the press (Seemanth Kumar Singh). He has virtually denied the incidents though they are "investigating". How long will be live in this uneasiness and insecurity.

Its very sad to see mangalore facing such meaningless problems. Such kind of people only the real mangaloreans can teach them a good lesson. Since childhood i never saw mangalore face communal problems. We should getogether solve this ourselves. Or else its curtains to the name of famed city mangalore. Please everybody pray for this to happen. Dinkyyy.............

Though the attack of this kind is inhuman & against civic sense, the primarily responsible party for this incident is this particular news paper itself. Since its begining, it has been unnecessarily engaging in fight with one or other persons or institutions. Most of time it has stepped to such low level as to hurt sentiments of other person. Naturally, it is reaping what it had swon.

Had it been presenting news as par with other day papers, its credit would have been much higher. It was also penalised in past by the Court for hurting religious sentiments. Perhaps it continues to attract wrath of public as along it continues with its present attitude.

"Sad" is the state of affairs in Karnataka. Attack on press is a threat to democracy and constitution.

We are slowly but steadily turning into another Bihar. What amazes me is that the Home Minister is silent and the cops are once again are proving that they are hand-in- glove with these goons.

This is assault on freedom and democracy. This act needs to be condemned by all irrespective of their ideologies and affiliations.  Police must show their courage and sincerity in arresting the culprits. Shame on those goons who act on the behest of some vested interests.

I hope that the new Home Minister
    instruct the Police officers of
    Mangalore to arrest immediately
the goondas. They should be sent to
jail atleast for 3 years. These goondas have the backing of RSS,
VHP and Bhajrang Dal who destroyed
the peace in Mangalore.Where is the
    Press Club?Why dont the working
    journalists condemn this sort of
vandalism and ask the Police to book the culprits? When Mr.Gopal Hosur was here everything was under control. Now Mangalore is
facing this type of goondagiri by
    some unempolyed gooNdas.

It is really very sad. The poor person is selling some news paper and taking his days. If these stupid people want him not to sell a particular paper then they must pay for his daily bread. Other solution is the culprit must buy all the news paper, so no one will get the copy of paper. It is cruel and brutal action by the persons. They must be put behind the bars and seize their property and give compensation to the victim. Hope our POLICE department will take proper action against the culprit.

This is the act of cowards.

They can only attack unarmed innocent people and will run away when comfronted by strong people.

Inaction by the police force on such earlier acts have encouragd them to do such acts.

Mr Yedyurappa take some action before this goes out of your hand.
