Bengaluru: Offer to sell kidney - Woman claims having been cheated

Bengaluru, Aug 20: A 36-year-old woman from Vyalikaval here has filed a complaint in the cybercrime, economic offences and narcotics police station, claiming that she was cheated of Rs 7.97 lac in the guise of selling her kidney.

Interestingly, the woman has said that she came across an advertisement about the sale of kidneys on a social website. She called the number mentioned therein. The woman who received the call introduced herself as Dr Seema Rai. She promised to pay one crore rupees to the woman if her kidney matches with that of the patient.

The complainant stated that in the following days, she was duped after getting Rs 7.97 lac transferred in the name of registration fee, blood test, RBI guidelines fee etc.
