Pakistan Ready for Talks with India: Qureshi

Islamabad, Sep 28 (IANS) Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that a meeting with Indian External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna is possible in New York, if New Delhi agrees to fresh proposals submitted by Islamabad, it was reported here Tuesday.

Qureshi said that if he gets a positive response from the Indian side "we can meet anytime before I leave for Pakistan", Dawn News reported.

Qureshi, who is expected to address the UN General Assembly Tuesday, said talks between India and Pakistan should be meaningful and are essential to resolve the Kashmir crisis.

Krishna had a "chance encounter" with Qureshi at the UN last Friday, where they greeted each other warmly and talked about the floods in Pakistan.

The Indian foreign minister stressed there was no alternative to talks with Pakistan and said he was ready to discuss all issues, including Kashmir.

The chance encounter was their first interaction since their meeting in Islamabad in July.

Kashmir is an integral part of India. No compromise on this issue. If anybody from Kashmir or any part of India think of separating they are free to go to any other country of their choice. Pakistan may be asked bluntly to vacate POK and stop infiltration. India should be tough towards these terrorist supported country who work on behalf of some other country.
