Bantwal, Sep 28: A person named Prabhakar, resident of Badagabellur, was found to have been crushed under the weight of some vehicle at Loretto bus stop on the state highway to Moodbidri from here,  on the evening of Monday September 27.

Reportedly, since some time, he used to stay at the home of his in-laws in Ajekala near here, with his wife. His head was found to have been crushed under the wheels of some heavy vehicle. It is learnt that he was returning after finishing the day’s work. As a private bus had passed by a few minutes before the body of Prabhakar was recovered, it is suspected that the bus in question had knocked him down, before its wheels moved over his head.

As there was nobody at the spot and it was dark, no one had noticed the incident for some time. The policemen of the local station rushed to the spot after being alerted about the incident by a passerby, and registered a case. Investigations are on.
