CM offers ‘Bagina’ to Krishna river at Almatti dam

Bengaluru, Aug 21: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, who is on a visit to Vijayapura and Bagalakote districts, offered 'Bagina', the traditional offering of flowers and fruits, to the Krishna river at the Lal Bahadur Sashtri reservoir of Almatti dam on Saturday.

The Bagina is a grateful offering to the river, which is a lifeline to the entire North Karnataka region.

Ministers Govind M Karjol, Murugesh R Nirani, Umesh V Katti and Shashikala Jolle, BJP MP P C Gaddigoudar, MLAs Veeranna Charantimath, Doddanagouda Patil, Basanagouda Patil Yatil, Yashwanthrayagouda Patil, Somanagouda Patil Sasanur, Arun Shahapur and Shivananda Patil and other local BJP leaders were present.

The Chief Minister later held a discussion of the elected representatives and officials of the Vijayapura and Bagalakote districts.
