Kundapur, Aug 21: Vandse Kattemane Sudhaker Shetty, alumni of government model higher primary school has donated a solar system of the capacity of 5 KV costing Rs eight lacs to the school. It was handed over to the school on August 19.
The solar system is very useful for the school for use at computer lab, projector etc. There are plans to sell the excess power to Mescom.
School headmaster Chandra Naika, Mookambika charitable trust president Krishnamurthy Manjaru, secretary Udaya Kumar Shetty and SDMC president Manjunath A G have thanked the donor of the solar system.
The school that had celebrated its centenary in 2016 had 89 students. The number of students has increased after starting English medium and pre primary classes. There are 319 students from first standard to seventh standard at present. The total strength of students is 399 now. The school has progressed providing basic facilities with donations from Mookambika charitable trust, M S Manja Charitable trust, Rotary club and other donors.
Several facilities are made available in the school with the generous donations from school donors and alumni. The number of students is increasing with the efforts of the teaching staff.
