Mangalore: KIADB Land Scam - Lokayuktha Allays Rumours of Influence into Investigations

Mangalore, Sep 28: Lokayuktha Justice N Santhosh Hegde on Tuesday September 28 allayed rumours that minister Katta Subrahmanya Naidu tried to influence investigations conducted by lokayuktha officials into KIADB land scam issue.
Speaking tp presspersons on the sidelines of Yuva Sammelana organized by the Ramakrishna Mutt here, he reiterated that lokayukta investigations cannot be influenced upon in any manner. Though a few ministers have had a meeting with me, the discussions never veered towards KIADB land scam investigations, he clarified.
Thorough investigations into land scam issue has been undertaken and a report will be ready in 15 days, he said.
Speaking on the ban on iron ore export, Hegde said that it had come to his notice that after export of iron ore was banned from Belekeri prt, the iron ore had been exported from Mangalore port. "I possess the letter exchanged in this regard between forest officer Gokul and port officials, which will be investigated into, he said.
However, Hegde refused to comment when it was pointed out that Chief Minister B S yeddyurappa gained an upperhand in the recent cabinet reshuffle due to the episode of Hegde's resignation and then reinstatement. He also said that notices will be issued against people's representatives, who do not declare their assets. On the basis of the reply to the said notices, action will be initiated, he said.
