2 More Athletes Pull Out, But 400-strong Canadian Team Coming

Toronto, Sep 29 (IANS) Two more Canadian athletes Tuesday pulled out of the Commonwealth Games starting in New Delhi Oct 3.

Woman diver Meaghan Benfeito cited a shoulder injury and badminton player Alvin Lau school commitments as the reasons to pull out of the event.

They join archers Kevin Tataryn and Dietmar Trillus who withdrew from the Games last week, citing health and security concerns.

After initial reservations about conditions at the athlete's village, Canada is sending a contingent of about 400 athletes, trainers and other staff to the Games.
