Mysore, Sep 29 (PTI): Governor H R Bhardwaj today asserted he was not 'clinging' to his post and was ready to go back if the Centre recalled him.
"I am ready to go back if the Central Government recalls me.... I am not clinging to the post of Governor", he told reporters on the sidelines of a function.
He was reacting to a question on a PIL in the High Court seeking his recall for refusal to give assent to the cow slaughter ban bill passed by the BJP government.
He said Citizens were free to criticise those in power, an apparent reference to ongoing verbal spats between him and BJP ministers.
