Mangalore Basketball Club declared winners of 1st state championship

Mangaluru, Aug 26: Mangalore Basketball Club were declared winners of 1st state 3x3 basketball championship organised by Karnataka State Basketball Association at Kanteerava Stadium, Bengaluru.

In the final match, Mangalore Basketball Club (MBC) beat Bank of Baroda 22-13.

In the semifinal match, MBC beat MEG 21-16, and in the quarterfinal match MBC beat Young Orions 22-14.

In the earlier matches, MBC beat BSNL by 21-12, MBC beat IBBC 21-20, MBC beat MICO 21-10.

As many as 48 teams from the state participated in the event.

    I remember reading in yesterday, s newspaper that for the first time in thehistory of the tournament some privately sponsered club team has won the tournament. May be the Mangalore team has won group match by beating BOB team.

    You are wrong and You are right. Private team has won and you think Mangalore can not have a private team. This team is fully sponsored by Navin Shetty who is also the the owner and coach. They have beaten the BOB in the finals.

    Mangalore team won the 3x3 championship. But in state basketball league they are 4th consistently since last 4 years.
