'Mulayam Singh Must Seek Pardon for Ayodhya Comments'

Lucknow, Oct 2 (IANS): A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Saturday demanded that Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav should seek pardon for his comments that the Allahabad High Court's verdict on the Ayodhya dispute was based on belief and not legalities and evidences.

"His (Yadav's) comments are extremely unfortunate…He must seek pardon from the people of this country, particularly the natives of Ayodhya," said Vinay Katiyar, BJP national vice-president, Saturday while speaking to reporters in Faizabad district, some 150 km from Lucknow.

"On behalf of the residents of the holy Ayodhya city, I demand that Mulayam Singh must bow his head at the Ram Lalla (the makeshift temple at the disputed site) and seek pardon," he added.

Katiyar alleged that Yadav's comments are intended to solicit support from the minority community.

"It is a desperate attempt to win back the Muslims…It's disgraceful that Mulayam Singh is exploiting the issue for appeasement of Muslims," Katiyar said.

A special three-judge bench of the Allahabad High Court's Lucknow bench Thursday by a majority verdict ruled that the place where the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya stood, before it was razed by Hindu mobs in 1992, was indeed the birthplace of Hindu god Ram.

It also ruled that the entire disputed land in Ayodhya, a riverside temple town in Uttar Pradesh, should be divided among the Sunni Central Waqf Board, the Ram temple and the Nirmohi Akhara, a Hindu sect and an original litigant in the case.

Hi Shahnawaz kukkikatte, dubai/udupi I like your spirit. I appreciate RSS more then Muslim clerics. Now it is clear that illigal Masjid was built on temple & still muslim got 1/3 of the land & RSS is happy with the verdict. But muslim do not want to donate the land to Hindus at least as Zakat. You people lost this golden Opportunity. Now you can make out who wants Peace & stability of this country.

This is the typical example of
the crude nature of the politicians. Indians, both
living in India and abroad are
    greatly relieved that a national
    crisis of greater magnitude was
    averted very peacefully, but one
politician has to vomit the dirt
    to create another friction if
    possible.

The people of India must start
    a new movement " National
    peace movement" to gag
    those politicians of all parties
in their dare devil monkey game
    of playing the religious card
to create bloodshed. If we all
need to live in peace, to create
    prosperity and respect for India
India must be a peaceful country
    for all.

    Nobody sought any legal
    interpretation about the verdict
from Mr. Mulayam Singh, so his
    inappropriate and untimely
    comment was a serious blunder
with the whole intention to create
    another political agitation but
thank God, his game plan did't work.

Well said Mr. Pasha. When the whole country is patient and is looking forward for a peaceful co-existance, the mulayam is making needless and illtimed statements only for petty political gains. They dont want Hindu and Muslim communities to co-exist. In reality they are worse than our neighbourhood enimies.

All drity politics uncalled for. Now judgement is out and these dirty third rated moraleless politicians are playing politics in the name of verdict just for vote bank politics. Each one of us Indians has a temple/masjid/church/gurudwar in himself and lets be sincere and faithful to our hearts which vouches for our feelings. God knows what one says, feels and conceals. Today the verdict is victory for peace and progress and its a victory for co existance and brotherhood. NOw we have dirty leaders from resprective communities to instigate. The dirty leaders have already started commenting adversly and they certainly dont wish hindus and muslims to live in peace and happiness. We all Indians must stand united now and say that yes we respect the verdict and we abide by it and we dont need any advise from trouble and hate mongers. I love my country more than babri masjid. I love my hindu brothers more than babri masjid and I want peace and prosperity. If I can trade peace for babri masjid why not? If I can barter security for masjid why not? Do the leaders realise what the nation needs? We need unity or else we all are vulnerable to our enemies across the border. There will be repition of Mumbai attacks. Do we really need chaos? Its the time to buy peace and express solidarity with nation. Those who dont respect the verdict they are traitors. One can appeal in the higher court, but he must respect the verdict and cant make irresponsible comments and mockery of our judiciary.

He is just taking advantage to minority (now they are no more called minority because of the population) like our home minister Chiddu who still says this verdict is not related to babri masjid demolion whereas court has alredy given verdict that is not an masjid.

The real cheater is Mulayam Singh and not the high court. He won with elections with Hindu votes and then cheated them by firing on them. Next time, he won with muslim votes and cheated on them by calling Kalyan Singh a brother. He will do anything for power. He is like a fish out of water without money and power. His alter ego, Mayawati is one step worse than him. Allah save us from such politicians like Mulayam, Laloo, Mamata, Samata and Lalitha. As said in urdu, "Aise dost se tho dushman acha jo samne se var kare." The Parivar never hides its intentions and have at least behaved when in power to safeguard it.
