Police pose as car buyers on OLX website to arrest rapist of Puttur origin

Kochi, Aug 31: In a surprise occurrence, police nabbed a man, accused in rape case that took place two and a half years ago at Kakkanada of Kerala with the help of OLX website.

Praveen, a resident of Puttur, was underground for two and a half years. The police's hunt did not yield any result. In the end, OLX website came to their assistance.

Accused Praveen (30), a resident of Puttur was employed at a temple at Chottanikkara in Kerala in 2019. He got acquainted with a young girl there. He also had a physical relationship with her on the promise of getting married to her. Both were in a live-in relationship for some time in the same house.

The girl had said that she is working as a doctor with accused Praveen. But later Praveen came to know that she is unemployed. This created a rift in their relationship. The girl filed a complaint of sexual harassment against Praveen. It is learnt that she is mother of two children now.

Police tried a lot to track Praveen. At last they came to know that Praveen has placed an advertisement on OLX to sell his car. Police spoke to him in the guise of customers desiring to buy his car. They met accused Praveen at a spot mentioned by him. As soon as they reached the spot, they arrested Praveen.

    The women was in live-in relationship with the accused i.e. everything is consensual. Now the poor guy was running and hiding thanks to a fake case. Is this justice? Our heads hang in shame.

    This case wont hold at all. The girl had lied before lying down with the man. Then she had 2 babies from him. Now she is filing a rape case, shows the act of revenge than looking for justice.

    I really don't know what the backstory is, but reading the article above I get the impression that both mutually loved each other in the beginning and stayed together, but then there was a fight and they separated, girl filed for rape? if not true, that's misuse of the law! If true, hope the girls gets justice. Let justice prevail!

    Harish mangalore,at last tube light is on.First of all two lived long till two children were born without the promised marraige.Both didnt have time ?both are at fault.She wanted someone to have fun and food ,He wanted time pass ,but never bothered to get marry.Now she doesnt have one husband but two children.It cant be rape case.He may come out free.

    Looks like a case filed for revenge. Recently there is a high court order saying live in relationship couple cannot file r*** cases....poor guy paying for one sided law.
