Bangalore, Oct 4: The Congress leaders have submitted a memorandum to Governor H R Bhardwaj requesting him to dismiss the B S Yeddyurappa led state government.
Opposition leader Siddaramaiah and KPCC president R V Deshpande among host of other Congress leaders said the government must order a CBI probe into the KIADB land scams. They said the land scams involving Yeddyurappa and Naidu are in violation of the oath of office and against the rules as they have swindled several crores of rupees.
As the land scam is being investigated into by the lokayukta N Santhosh Hegde, it is important that minister Katta Subrahmanya Naidu is asked to resign or or dismissed from the cabinet for his alleged involvement in the scam for smooth investigation without any influence due to his position.
Siddaramaiah also took a potshot at the Chief Minister saying that the statement by the CM that why should father be punished for son’s mistake shows his irresponsibility. The government has no right to stay in power,” he said.
Meanwhile, a defiant Katta Subramanya Naidu has refused to resign terming the allegations false. "Neither me or my family members have committed irregularities in land purchases or sale. But, if the charges against me are proved of owning lands in Yelahanka and Devanahalli among others, I will donate them to poor," he said.
Naidu said, "Congress instead of trying to tarnish my image leveling false allegations, should introspect on scandals involving their partymen including in the Commonwealth Games.
