Puttur, Sep 2: A group of youngsters stopped and questioned two young men and a lady who were seen going to a lodge together. It is said that the lady belonged to a religion other than that of the men.

The incident happened at the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation bus stand here on Wednesday September 1.

Some Muslim youth questioned two Hindu men who were found in the company of a Muslim lady visiting a lodge near the bus stand. Thereafter the incident was referred to the police station. The police who made enquiries, sent the trio away.

It is said that Hanumantharaya from Manvi taluk had got acquainted with a Muslim lady from Puttur via Instagram. The acquaintance soon turned into love for each other. Hanumantharaya had come to Puttur to meet the girl, it is learnt.

On the basis of a complaint made by the youngster about having been assaulted, a case stands registered in the town police station here.
