Bengaluru, Sep 2: Jagannath S Sajjanar (34) of Vijayapura origin has been arrested by the personnel of Hennur, Bengaluru police station. Nagashree (31) from Surathkal, Madhya had filed a complaint of cheating against him.

Jagannath, a resident of Ullal in Mangaluru, used to project himself as a civil engineer through bio data posted in matrimonial sites. He reportedly used to convince the women that he was sincere in his decision to marry them and then cheat them.

Nagashree who works for a private hospital has claimed that Jagannath had borrowed three lac rupees from her for buying a flat. She had pledged her gold ornaments in a finance company and handed over the borrowed money to him in cash. He later returned Rs 1.5 lac and earned her confidence. Later, he borrowed this money again from her.

It is said that he used to mostly target women aged over 30 or divorced women. A total of ten cases of cheating the women in this way have been registered against him in ten different police stations in the state.
