Bengaluru: State govt gives conditional permission to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Sep 5: The Karnataka government has given the go-ahead to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi festival on some conditions. Permission has been given to celebrate the festival for only for three days.

In a meeting was held in the home office Krishna of chief minister Bommai on Sunday, it was decided to give permission to celebrate Ganesh festival under certain conditions.

Though permission has been given to celebrate the festival for three days, processions as well as entertainment programmes have been prohibited.

CM Bommai took this decision based on the report of a technical committee. As the Covid cases are still significantly high, only three days' celebration has been granted.

Even if the Ganesha idol is kept in public places, the installation ceremony should be simple, and the idol should be eco-friendly. There is no opportunity to celebrate in a grand manner. Instructions are also given to immerse the idol only in the place specified by district administration. The celebrations and rituals should wind up by 9 pm. Organisers must be fully vaccinated.

Prior permission is mandatory to install the idol of Lord Ganesh. This has to be taken from district administration or BBMP.

Also, celebrations are prohibited in areas bordering Kerala. No celebrations will be allowed in schools and colleges.

The CM also warned that strict action would be taken against anyone violating the conditions.

This is like giving backdoor entry for Covid. Permission or no Permission, people will gather in large numbers and the Govt will not have any control. Even masks will be forgotten. Extension of ban on Indians in neighbouring countries is sure with such stupid policies.

We welcome govt decisions..... We salute the nationalist and freedom fighter , true Congress man Bal Gangadhar Tilak was the man who turned the private, household Ganesh Chathurthi celebration into the present day carnival to fight against British atrocities and to obtain independence.
