BJP Prez Gadkari Flays Centre Over Farmer Suicides

Vadodara, Oct 6 (PTI): Thousands of farmers in the country have committed suicide due to wrong polices of the Central Government, BJP President Nitin Gadkari said today.

"The government has been pursing anti-farmer policies," he said while addressing a public rally here in run-up to the October 10 civic elections.

Speaking about the Commonwealth Games in Delhi the BJP chief added that that his party has decided to keep mum about the ongoing event to save India's image and will raise the issue of irregularities after the sporting gala is over.

On the issue of abundant stock of foodgrains Gadkari said he wanted to know why the Centre was not setting up enough godowns to stock foodgrains which are rotting in the open.

The BJP leader suggested a change in the portfolio of Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar, who he said, was more interested in cricket administration.
