Mangaluru: Teachers' Day celebrations held at St Agnes PU College

Media Release

Mangaluru, Sep 6: A teacher's purpose is not to create students in his or her own image, but to develop students who can create their own image. Being a teacher is the highest privilege and having one is the greatest blessing for mankind.

To commemorate this, Teachers’ Day was celebrated at St Agnes PU College with much fervor. The student cabinet members along with the class representatives and the assistant class representatives entertained the teaching and non-teaching faculty with a short programme as a token of their gratitude. The programme began with a prayer song followed by dances, music, games and PPT presentations. A few surprise events were also conducted by them thus manifesting their respect and love for their ‘Gurus’. Principal of the college Sr Norine DSouza thanked and appreciated the students for the ardous efforts put in by them.

The Parents Teachers Association (PTA) members too organized a delightful and fabulous variety entertainment programme with few games on the red – letter day for the teachers. They lauded the teachers’ efforts in motivating and inspiring the students during these hard times. The principal expressed her gratitude to the PTA members on behalf of all the staff members. It was indeed a memorable day for the faculty members. The day’s celebrations concluded with a delectable luncheon.
