Mangaluru: Youths rescue dog bundled up in gunny bag, dumped on roadside

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Sep 6: Another disturbing incident of animal abuse was reported from Kudupu. Miscreants bundled up a dog in a gunny bag and dumped it on the roadside.

The incident took place in Kudupu, outskirts of Mangaluru city. The animal was rescued by Vamanjoor residents Gladson and Nagesh Shenoy.

The duo who rescued the dog will file a complaint at Mangaluru rural police station.

It may be recalled, on two occasions earlier in the year, instances of cruelty were reported where men on bikes were seen dragging dogs with ropes. The police took quick action in both the cases and arrested the accused.

Two years back me & group of Mangaloreans had discovered a racket on Mysore RingRoad where early in the morning old two seater rickshaw wala & a tonga wala would mysteriously load vehicle with gunny bags brought out from the bush. One day on confronting them & opening loaded gunny bags found dogs stuffed in purortedly to be transported to other part of city most probably for adulteration in biryani

There are so many stray dogs on the roads of Mangalore. When anyone takes a pet dog for a walk there are so many stray dogs who attack the pet dog. It is so dangerous not only to the pet dog even the human who handles the pet dog. The corporation should do something about the stray dogs. I also blame some residents who feed such dogs and increase their count.

Keep your fancy pets at home, the roads and the trees belong to everyone. The roads are not fancy parks for pets for walking. They suffer enough without food and water, people like you make them seem like criminals. Dogs on the streets fed by people become less aggressive, fight less and protect the locality from new people or intruders. Your dogs are attacked cos you are entering into the local dogs territory and you haven't neutered your dog which other dogs see as a threat. Don't be naive, live and let others live, the city belongs to everyone, period.

Do yourself a favour. Buy a separate plot for you to take your pet for walks there! That way the strays won’t bite your dog and they will be peacefully able to protect their area and stay happy not having to see you around. It’s a win win situation. You should be thankful there are people who feed these hungry dogs and not blame the good people for the good work you aren’t capable of doing! Feeding the dogs doesn't increase their count! Unfortunately a lot of people take pets and but later abandon them on the streets .. now such are to be blamed! Not good one’s who have a heart good enough to help the voiceless..

Dear Dylan. We can see plenty of stray humans every where! Humans are the most dangerous animal in the world! Government must be strict on population explosion. Any one who produce more than 2 kids should be castrated!
