Panaji: Goods worth Rs 2.5 lac stolen from two houses

Panaji, Sep 7: Unidentified persons have been booked by Mapusa police for absconding with valuables worth Rs 2.5 lac from two houses at Dattawadi and Cunchelim.

SujayKumar Netravalkar, (59), a resident from Dattawadi, lodged a complaint against an unidentified person for absconding with brass utensils and Rs 4,000 in cash, all together a worth of Rs 1.5 lac, from his ancestral home, the police reported saying.

In another case, Tejesh Shetye and his family had gone to their native village for Ganesh Chaturthi preparations while their house was robbed. Tejesh lodged a complaint with the police stating on Saturday around 10 am, some unidentified person absconded with his wife's ornaments and some cash all worth Rs 1 lac. The robbers were said to have entered his flat in Cunchelim by breaking the lock.

Two cases have been registered against the unidentified thieves under provisions of the IPC, by the Mapusa police, further investigation is ongoing.
