Puttur, Sep 14: A complaint is filed in Puttur police station accusing three women of defrauding a jewellery shop in the town of gold weighing 50.242 grams worth Rs 2.60,400.
According to the details of the complaint filed by Rathis C P, manager of Jos Alukkas jewellery shop, three women clad in burqa arrived to Jos Alukkas jewellery shop situated in Hindustan Commercial Complex at around 3 pm on September 1 in the pretext of buying gold. They asked for ear rings with salesman Chethan.
When the salesman kept the ear rings in tray and showed the same to them, the unknown customers removed the ear rings weighing 50.242 gram worth Rs 2,60,400 and kept 3.065 gram gold worth Rs 13,400. They also provided false address and mobile number and stole the ear rings.
Based on the CCTV footage the accused were arrested by police from Biramalegudde. They are identified as Bibijaan, Hussainabi and Jaithumbi. Gold worth Rs 2,60,400 is confiscated from them.
