Mangaluru: Malabar Gold & Diamonds extends housing financial aid to needy

Mangaluru, Sep 16: Malabar Gold & Diamonds Mangaluru announced housing charity cheque distribution ceremony as a part of its CSR Activity in the city. Fourteen families would receive financial support to build the house.

Abdul Raheem, managing director of Shalimar, Ahmed Basheer, managing director of group-4, Padmaraja R, notary, treasurer of Shri Gokarnanath temple, president Guru Beladingalu, Jacinta Vijay Alfred, corporator of Falnir, Asif Deals, founder of ngo Team B-Human and Karunakaran, director of Malabar Gold & Diamonds, were present as the guests of honour.

Sarath Chandran, deputy store head, Shoukath Ali and Althaf, assistant store heads, Raghuram, branch manager, Sheik Farhan, marketing manager, and Karthik Kumar, guest relationship manager were also present.

Malabar Housing Charitable Trust was established in 2004 to provide partial financial aid for the construction of houses for the homeless. It helps people partially or completely in the construction of houses. Partial help would be provided, help will be given from the government or other organizations also. In certain circumstances such as people who are in need are not able to get any other means to construct their houses, the trust would provide complete support.

Quality And Process

The establised trust believes that materials provided to the applicants for the construction of houses should be of high quality. In the effort, therefore the trust continuously tried to ensure that best quality material is provided. A team of members would study about the market and collect purchase quotes from five or six suppliers and the panel of social experts will decide as to from whom to be purchased. This helps the applicants to procure quality materials at an effective rate.

Trust Activities

CSR activities are at the core of the Malabar Group’s corporate philosophy right from the days of inception. Over the last two decades the group has contributed substantially to the welfare of the society through CSR activities such as supply of free life saving medicines, financial aid for construction of houses for the homeless people, women empowerment programs like, student scholarships, helping deprived and downtrodden families who are struggling to meet the marriage expenses of their daughters and environment protection activities etc.

Malabar Group of Companies chairman M P Ahammed said, “As part of the CSR, the group will lay more stress on areas like building houses for the homeless, environmental conservation, women empowerment, medical and educational sectors in India this will provide lot of improvement in the life of needy peoples."
