Bengaluru, Sep 20: Two miscreants who assaulted a Hindu youth, duly objecting to his act in carrying a Muslim lady in his motorbike to her destination, stand arrested. After the video of the above act was widely shared in social media websites, the personnel of S G Palya police station here acted swiftly and arrested the culprits. Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai, has expressed appreciation for the prompt police action.
The incident happened at the Dairy Circle in the city on Saturday night. Mahesh, employed in a bank, was on the way to drop off his colleague, a Muslim lady, to her home here. The accused who followed Mahesh, attacked him. The video clip which went viral, showed the men hitting Mahesh and threatening him with dire consequences if he again carried a burqa-clad lady on his motorbike.
The miscreants also admonished the woman for travelling by a vehicle driven by a person of another faith. They warned her to keep track of what was going on around, and advised her to go home by an auto rickshaw. When the lady told them that her house is located on this route and that she is married, the two also called her husband over the phone and used abusive language against him.
