Mangaluru: Pharmacy Day observed at PA College

Mangaluru, Sep 26: PA College of Pharmacy organized an offline lecture by Dr M K Unnikrishnan, prfessor, NGSM institute of Pharmaceutical Sceince, Mangaluru, to mark the world Pharmacist day on September 25.

Dr Unnikrishnan, while delivering his talk on trust, optimism and humane care, he stressed on placebo in the treatment protocols. He advocated building trust among patients by giving personal care and humane touch. He emphasized on community practice and called upon the pharmacists to play a vital role in patient counseling and safety.

Earlier, the programme was commenced by invocation by Dr Muhammad Mubeen, professor, and a welcome address by Dr Saleemulla Khan, principal, both from PA College of Pharmacy. Dr Sharmila Kumari, vice principal PA College of Engineering and Dr Syed Ameen, director, MBA studies, PACE, Mangaluru graced the occasion.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Praneetha Jain, assistant professor. PA College of Pharmacy. Vijetha Poojari, asst. prof. PA College of Pharmacy compered the event. Post lecture programme Dr Unnikrishnan planted a medicinal plant sapling with which he was welcomed in PA medicinal garden.
