Davangere: St Aloysius College Harihar conducts inauguration ceremony of student council

Davangere, Sep 27: To inculcate the values of accountability, governance, leadership and responsibility in the students, a grand celebration of inauguration and investiture programme of the student council 2021 was held at St Aloysius PU College, Harihar.

In ancient days, gurukula system was famous for ethics, morals and value based education but nowadays, education is confined to marks only, said Prajapitha Brahmakumari Leelaji of Davangere, the chief guest of the day. She said rationality is now merely a nightmare in children's education. Further, she also pointed out the slip-ups of educators.

It is believed that children can become good human beings only when values such as etiquette, dynamics, unity, cooperation, apathy, transparency, integrity, openness and naturalistic are imparted which is the full-form of education, she said.

Baptist Sunny Gudinho, the principal of the college who was present at the platform, said that youth should have virtues of leadership to become men and women for others with their academic excellence. He said that in today's challenging world, only those with creative mindset and innovative qualities can conquer. He also called for the integration of social services with education and respect for the elders. Fr Eric Mathaias SJ the superior, vice principals PushpalataUrs and Mousin Ulla, and programme coordinator Vilisha D'Souza and student leader Adil were present on the dais.

There was a small cultural programme along with felicitation to the chief guest. Appreciation for top scorer was held as well. Mahima welcomed the gathering, Rehan rendered the vote of thanks and Satholine compered the programme.
