Mangaluru, Sep 28: A person working as conductor-cum-driver for Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) ended his life by hanging himself on Sunday September 26. He has been identified as Ningappa Imarapur (40) from Bagalkot district.
Ningappa hanged himself from the ceiling fan in his room on Sunday evening. He was serving in KSRTC as conductor-cum-driver for the last several years.
It is said that for the last sometime, Ningappa was facing mental harassment from higher officials. Ningappa's brothier, Mahesh, alleged that his brother ended is life, unable to bear the harassment.
"The officials had asked my brother to report for work a week back. My brother who was in his native place, had come here. But the officials were harassing him without entrusting work to him. He got frustrated and hanged himself when no roommates were present. His wife, four daughters and two sons, have lost their support system. KSRTC senior officials are directly responsible for the suicide. These officials should be acted against," Mahesh demanded.
