Pakistan Former President Farooq Leghari Dead


Islamabad, Oct 20 (IANS) Former Pakistan president Farooq Ahmed Khan Leghari, who dismissed Benazir Bhutto's government in 1996, is dead. He was 70.

Leghari died in Pakistan's Rawalpindi city early Wednesday, Dawn reported.

He was elected Pakistan's eighth president in 1993. He dismissed Benazir Bhutto's government on allegations of corruption, lawlessness and extra-judicial-killings Nov 19, 1996.
