Puttur, Oct 2: Mokshita is a girl student of the government high school at Irde Uppalige in the taluk. Her family faces abject poverty and hence was living in a hut without any basic facilities. Her family has got a new house, thanks to the good gesture of some Samaritans.
When block education officer Lokeshi B, visited the houses of SSLC students along with the headmaster of the high school, he took pity on Mokshita and her family after observing that they live in a hut covered by tarpaulin. He decided to provide a decent house for the family.
His initiative received the support of many donors. Foundation stone was laid for the house on Independence Day and completed now. The house will be handed over to the family on Gandhi Jayanti.
