Mangaluru, Oct 3: “Those who love their mother tongue and culture will love the other communities living in society. Because of this love itself we are living in harmony in society and there is peace in society. Education is the light in this direction. All have to cooperate to build a society of this kind,” said Prabhakara Sharma, honorary secretary of Red Cross society. He was speaking as the chief guest of the ‘Byari Basero Nalacharane’ programme that was organized at a private hotel in the city by All India Byari Parishad.
G M Shahul Hamid president of the organization presided over the function. B A Mohammed Hanif, former president of Karnataka Byari Sahitya Academy did the introductory speech. The programme was inaugurated by Byari leader Abdul Khader Konaje.
Chief guests included MCC member Abdul Latif Kandaka, editor of Byari Varthe Basheer Baikampady, president of MEEF Moosabba P Byari, lawyer Riaz Bantwal and litterateur Perur Jaaru.
The stage programme was compered by chief secretary of the organization Abdul Aziz Haque. Honorary president Yusuf Waqar welcomed the gathering.
The people who took part in Byari proverbs and essay competition were honoured by the founder president of the organization J Hussain. The programme started with Byari language recitation by engineer Mohammed Iqbal Katipalla. Hasanabba Moodbidri, Hussain Katipalla and Ibrahim Bathisha sang Byari songs.
Former deputy mayor Mohamed Kunjathbail rendered vote of thanks.
