Mumbai: Mother, son jump off from moving train, son survives

Mumbai, Oct 11: In a tragic incident that occurred at Vidyavihar in the city a woman was killed when she jumped off a running local train along with her young son. However, the seven-year-old boy survived the fall and was admitted into a hospital.

According to police sources the deceased is identified as Banu More (30). She lived with her young son Amit at Kalwa. Her husband married for the second time.

Banu had boarded the train from Kalwa on Saturday morning. The local was bound for CSMT. She jumped off the train as it was approaching Vidyavihar along with her son. More died on the spot.

The young boy, son of the deceased who was lying in pool of blood on the tracks was rushed to the Rajwad hospital by a GRP cop who was on patrol duty. The young boy was further taken to Sion hospital after first aid at Rajwadi and the information was relayed to his father.
