Mumbai, October 12: Kasturi Sirigannada Vedike of Belagavi has honoured Mumbai based author, journalist and teacher Durgappa Yallappa Kotiyawar with state level ‘Vidya Vibhushan’ award considering his contribution to the education sector.

Durgappa serves as a teacher at the municipal Kannada school in Mumbai. He has written and published a book titled ‘Mumbayiyalli Kannadada Dindima’.

He has indulged in activities relating to Kannada language, literature and culture. He has been writing articles for newspapers in Mumbai and elsewhere and is a member of Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha, Maharashtra.
