Udupi, Oct 12: ICYM Milagres Cathedral unit emerged as the winner of Rosary Cricket Cup – 2021, whereas ICYM St Anne’s Church, Thottam became the runners, organised by ICYM Mount Rosary for the ICYM units of Kallianpur denary. The event was held in Mount Rosary church grounds on October 10, 2021.

The tournament was inaugurated by Dr Leslie C D’souza, parish priest of Mount Rosary Church by cutting the ribbon. He expressed his happiness to be a part of the tournament. 8 Teams of Sasthan, Brahmavar, Pethri, Kolalgiri, Milagres, Mount Rosary, Kemmannu, and Thottam ICYM units participated in the tournament.

Fr Charles Menezes, director ICYM Udupi diocese was the chief guest for the prize distribution ceremony. In his address he lauded the efforts for organizing the event and congratulated all the participants for taking part in the tournament with sportive spirit.

All the 8 teams took part with team spirit and upholding the sportsmanship. All the guests were honored with mementos.

Fr Joy Andrade, assistant parish priest of Milagres Cathedral, Fr Prakash Anil Catelino, director ICYM Kallinapur deanery accompanied the organizers in the tournament.

Fr Valerian Mendonca, rector Milagres Cathedral Kallianpur Fr Steevan Fernandes, assistant parish priest of Mount Rosary church, Fr Jerald S Dmello, Baptist Dias, vice president parish pastoral committee, Jason Dias, animator ICYM Mount Rosary Ronald Saldhanha, Santhosh Cornelio, Claton Dsouza, compered the programme.

Remus Saldhanha, president ICYM Mount Rosary welcomed the gathering. Ashley D'Souza proposed the vote of thanks. Jevita D'Silva announced the winners.
