Qatar: Gandhi Jayanti celebrated at ICC Ashoka auditorium

Qatar, Oct 13: Father of nation Mahatma Gandhi’s 152nd birthday was celebrated at ICC Ashoka auditorium in the city on October 2.

Quiz master Kishore Venkatesan started the direct question session with 12 contestants who had won in the preliminaries. All winners were divided into six teams. Rohit Birla and Arihant Vijaykumar were declared as the winning pair. Second place was bagged by Ranzil Jaison D’Souza and Deepak Purushotham Patel. Shafaqat Nabi and Francis Jayanth Jayapal were declared as winners of third place.

Indian ambassador to Qatar Dr Deepak Mittal inaugurated the art exhibition on the life of Mahatma Gandhi and Indian freedom movement. This was organized by Visual Arts Qatar.

Winners of various competitions organized by north Indian association on the occasion of Hindi Divas celebration were also felicitated on the occasion. ICBF insurance was handed over to 10 civic workers of Indian origin.

Barwa community Monday activity group presented a special cultural programme with the theme of Bharat Darshan, Indian Independence movement through narration and dances.
