Mock Drill Held in City to Counter Likely Terrorist Attack

Mangalore, Oct 28: A mock drill was organized by Dakshina Kannada district police at various check-posts across the city on Thursday October 28 to check the preparedness of police department in an
emergencies like nabbing of terrorists.
The drill is part of the operations that began Thursday morning following intelligence reports of a likely terrorist infiltration into coastal districts. Guards too were deployed at various hospitals premises in the backdrop of alert sounded in the city. The police are also keeping a check on the ledger books of the various lodges in the city.
A mock drill was also an exercise to ready the police force in the district to nab terrorists. The drill comprised an operation whereby the readiness of police was checked with mock exercise of 15 terrorists teams trying to enter the city with explosives.
With the police cordoning off the entire city in the peak hour on a working day, tension gripped the air.
