Mumbai: Covid restrictions to relax in state after Diwali?

Mumbai, Oct 18: The government of Maharashtra is likely to take a decision on relaxing the restriction imposed for Covid 19 after Diwali. This information was given by Rajesh Tope, health minister.

At present, there are 28,631 active cases in the state with 1715 new cases reported on Sunday, October 17. However, there was no death in the city on Sunday. First time since the pandemic began in Feb 2020.

An elated BMC commissioner I S Chahal said that Mumbai has not recorded zero covid deaths since March 26, 2020. He offered sincere appreciation to the MCGM team for their efforts. The commissioner also asked all citizens to wear masks and get vaccinated and keep the city safe.

Aaditya Thackeray, environment minister of the state and Mumbai suburban guardian minister shared the good news on his Twitter account.

The city recorded 367 new cases on Sunday, taking the total active cases in the city to 5030. The covid recovery rate at present is 97% and the doubling rate is at 1214 days.
