Mumbai, Oct 18: Gopalakrishna Public trust and BSKB association held Deeparadhane on Sharannavarathri at Nerul auditorium with traditional fervour. Deeparadhane is a ceremony in which the idol of a deity is decorated with a large number of votive lamps.

Chief priest Vedamurthi Krishnaraj Upadhyaya performed the rituals with the help of assistant priests. Ananta Bhat and Smitha Bhat couple were in charge of poojas.

A special cultural programme was held later in the direction of Yakshagana artiste Sahana Bharadhwaj. Subrahmanya Achar, Vidwan Ganapathi Bhat and Jansale Raghavendra Acharya sang the songs. Sahana Bharadhwaj included dances in the company of her pupils Tanvi Rao, Krithi Chadaga, Jahnavi Pothi, Bhargava Pothi, Hamsa Bharadhwaj and Manasvi Bharadhwaj.

Gokula Bhajan mandali performed Bhajans. The programme concluded after distribution of Theertha Prasada and meals.

The programme was transmitted by youtube with the technical cooperation from Rajagopalan Govindan and Jose.
