Bengaluru: Bypolls - Siddaramaiah charges BJP of spending huge money

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Oct 22: Former chief minister and leader of the opposition in the assembly, Siddaramaiah, has accused the BJP of trying to win the bypolls through corruption and money power. He however, claimed that there is a wave in favour of the Congress in both these assembly constituencies.

Speaking to media persons, he accused the BJP leaders of behaving like cowards. "As per my information, the BJP is spending large amounts of money in both Hangal and Sindagi constituencies," he stated.

Siddaramaiah predicted that the people will hit back at the government because of the price rise. "Cost of living has gone up and common people are facing problems. Corruption in the state has crossed all limits and development works have hit the roadblock," he stated.

Siddaramaiah said that all said and done, JD(S) will finally join hands with the BJP. "JD(S) does not have any principles. The minorities are intelligent. Even now the JD(S) leaders have entered into an internal understanding with the BJP. Even after joining hands with the BJP and forming the government, the JD(S) leaders claim themselves to be secular," he criticised.

Referring to comments that Siddaramaiah is wary of saffron colour, Siddaramaiah, through a tweet, wanted to know what has made people to think so. He said that having been concerned about the society, he is afraid that the RSS may create unrest and break the society. "I get hurt when harmony suffers," he added. He charged Dr K Sudhakar, a former Congress legislator, of breaching his trust, leaving the Congress and joining the BJP to become a minister. He said Sudhakar is intoxicated with power and reminded him that power is short lived. "In 2023, there will be another election. Let us see who sends whom to jail," he said.
