London, Nov 1 (IANS) Former British prime minister Margaret Thatcher has been named as the most influential woman in the world, according to a new survey.
Thatcher picked up almost a third of the votes (32 percent) in a survey conducted by MyDaily website.
She came ahead of other pioneering women, including Florence Nightingale, Mother Teresa and Oprah Winfrey in the survey where 2,048 people took part, The Mirror reported.
Thatcher served as prime minister of Britain from 1979 to 1990 and Leader of the Conservative Party from 1975 to 1990 -- the only woman to have held either post.
British supermodel Kate Moss came at bottom of the poll with only one percent of the vote.
The women were selected on the basis of commitment, hard work, intelligence and independence.
