Mangaluru/Udupi,Oct 28: Dakshina Kannada on Thursday, October 28 reported 31 new coronavirus cases. The case positivity rate for the district stands at 0.39%.

As per the district health bulletin, a total of 20,81,462 samples have been tested so far, out of which 19,66,064 have turned out to be negative.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,15,398 out of which 269 are currently active.

As many as 29 patients were discharged from hospitals on Thursday, taking the total number of recoveries to 113444.

The death in the district on Thursday is four. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,685.

The district administration has collected Rs 1,07,37,070 in fines for 88,441 mask violations.

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 12,12,539 samples have been tested for the second wave of coronavirus.

As many as 8 new cases were reported on Thursday, taking the total number of cases to 76,678 out of which 40 are currently active.

A total of 14 patients were discharged from hospitals on Thursday, taking the total number of recoveries to 76,162 for the second wave.

The second wave of coronavirus has claimed 286 lives in the district.
