Bengaluru: 30 transport department services go online from November 1

Bengaluru, Oct 30: From November 1 onwards, about 30 transport department services like registration certificates for new vehicles, issuance of registration number, temporary registration, vehicle transfer, RC copy, changes in the affidavit, learning licence issuance, change of name and address in the learning licence, conductor licence issuance and renewal etc will be available online from November 1.

The department has made preparations to provide these 30 important services as per the recommendations of Karnataka Administrative Reforms Commission - 2 and central government rules.

The department currently is providing 47 kinds of services and annually over 50 lac people visit its offices as per an estimate. Providing services online not only saves this waste but also reduces time required and is hoped to do away with corruption. The department plans to provide faceless-contactless services in respect of those services where physical presence and skill tests are not necessary.

In the state, annually over 20 lac new vehicles are registered. Chief secretary of the transport department, Rajendra Kumar Kataria, said that this initiative of his department wants to provide services as fast as possible in a simple and easy way without corruption. He said that efforts are on to provide selected 30 services online in tune with the central government guidelines.

    GOOD NEWS but problem is network all government apps are on the slower side or server down this is the biggest problem. Keep network feasible to do the work smoothly and fast

    A very good move, RTO is one of the most corrupt department.Now corruption will reduce. Such initiatives should be extended to all government and municipal departments and police.
