Udupi, Oct 30: Eight computers donated were handed over to St John's Kannada Medium High School, Shankerpura. With the interests of the alumni students and like minded people a total of 12 computers were donated to the school for the learning purpose out of which four computers were handed over earlier.
Under the guidance and leadership of Alphonse Mendonsa alumni and well wishers came forward to donate these computers considering the need of the school. The handing over programme was held on October 27, 2021 in school hall.
Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves, correspondent appreciated the efforts of Alphonse Mendonca and other donors for contributing for the cause. He also applauded them for their concern, care and love shown towards the Kannada medium high school students which will benefit the students in large manner.
Speaking on the occasion Alphonse Mendonca enlightened the students about how computer knowledge helps in availing a good job. He encouraged the students to make best use of the computer facility and be knowledgeable about the device. This will help to get good job in the future. You need to help other and should work towards the development of the school and society in particular when you have started to earn, he said. He also thanked all the donors for their generous contribution towards the dream project of the school.
The donors who contributed of the project are Kuwait Pangalites (Kuwait), Emirates Pangalites (Dubai), Konkan Ghar (Saudi Arabia), Harry Lobo / Leena Lobo (Qatar), Irene Noronha (Rtd Teacher), Joel Quadras (Dubai), Sumalata (Dubai), Andrew Noronha (Dubai), Cyril Martis (Canada), Melwin Dsouza (Dubai), Arun Noronha (Kuwait), Naveen Monis (Kuwait), Vivian Rodrigues (Kuwait), Veronica Mathias, (Canada) Meena Menezes (Qatar), Mala Menezes (Kuwait) and Alphonse Mendonsa.
Joan Rodrigues, vice president parish pastoral committee Anita D'souza, secretary committee members Seema Margaret, secretary Kurkal gram Panchayat donors and their representatives Ryan Fernandes, Old students association Clara Mendonca, retired headmistress and others were present.
Ashwin Rodrigues, headmaster St John's Kannada medium school welcomed the gathering. He also thanked the donors. Vijay Naik proposed vote of thanks, Sunita Leena compered the programme.
